Our Kind
O Lord you know what's in my heart
As I begin to pray,
That today will be a better start
For someone far away.
I know the pain this person feels
The loneliness she bears,
And at this point she has no "will"
To even hear, "You care."
Oh God if only she could know
I too, have felt no worth,
And every day the tears would flow
As I prayed to leave this earth.
But God you know it wasn't right
Or time for me to go,
Still yet, I had no will to fight
The devil, now I know.
She doesn't realize at this time
The pain she'll leave behind,
Her family will not understand
Their Mother, "This unkind?"
I only thought of my own self
When I too, felt so low,
The note I left upon the shelf
Was not enough I know.
I'll pray for her each passing day
Your strength she too, may find
And God help me along the way
To help others, of "our" kind.
Amen
