The Great Shepherd

To tell the life of one great man
Would be so hard to do,
His ways so few could understand
To some they seemed untrue.
I never met a man like him
Such faith I've never known,
But to God's word, he's been a stem
Each day his faith has grown.
He's been the shepherd of his flock
For over forty years,
Altho some fools of sin did mock
He's prayed for those who sneer.
His source of strength has come from God
And too his faithful wife,
She's followed him each path he's trod
Through good and bad in life.
Last Sunday morning he resigned
As Pastor of this church,
His sermons were a meal divine
One never lacked for thirst.
He's not a young man anymore
His health is not the best,
His life is far from being o'er
He mustn't feel depressed.
Oh such a life this man has had
And how I love him so,
I wish this man, who is my Dad
The entire world could know!
